Maybe the News This Week
Things I may or may not have learned this week on the internet.
This is an experiment. It may not last. But it might become a part 2 installment. We’ll see.
One of the things I’ve thought is wild is how many stories pass in and out of our consciousness by simply being attached to the internet. I’m not a particularly obsessed internet user, but I am online a bit during my work day, and I marvel at how many stories pass before us, day to day, that we often don’t think about but that do become part of the backdrop of how we unconsciously see the world.
And the more I read into it, the more I look at what and how censorship works, the more conscious I strive to become of the overall narrative we are told. Having a wider view of the stories can, hopefully, make us aware of the narrative corporate media wants us to be focused on, and what they may not want us to be focused on.
With this in mind, I’m going to try a weekly headline/news stories review. These are not in-depth stories, but rather stories I’ve come across, easily, during the course of the week. Some I could source, some probably not, but they are out there. If you want to know more about them, they are a simple to find. If you don’t believe them, that also is ok. I don’t necessarily trust them either. Just because we’re told a story doesn’t mean it’s real, it just means someone wants us to think it is.
So without overthinking it, let’s look at what I learned (or didn’t) on the internet this week.
District Attorney Jason Williams, in New Orleans, calls for increased surveillance across America, for safety concerns. He will be pushing for more pro-active security measures, including wide use of CC TV, and other programs akin to Britain & Europe. “I’ll be pushing for them,” he said.
China declares a pandemic emergency.
Two men, both stationed once at Fort Bragg (Fort Liberty) carried out terror attacks on the same day, one in New Orleans, one in Las Vegas. Some are reporting that Ryan Routh, who attempted to assassinate President Trump last year, visited Fort Bragg 140+ times, spending night there on 29 occasions. The FBI said there is no connection between any of the crimes.
Pro palestine marchers in NYC called for “global intifada” following the New Orleans attack.
Michigan plans to cut down 400 acres of state forest for a solar farm to make up for lost revenue in hunting and fishing licenses. While it is suggested this will help meet the states “climate goal” of 100% renewable energy, it was agreed this not stated that this solar farm will lead to a reduction in carbon. Many people think removing 400 acres of forest is a detriment to environmental health.
Biden holds press conference but neglects answering questions about the New Orleans and Las Vegas attack.
There were no major headline stories about drones this week until today. While major news headlines about the drones over New Jersey littered the internet last week, there were none this week, until this afternoon when a link was made to them in a reference in the supposed letter from the Vegas Cybertruck bomber.
In Britain a man was arrested for “causing anxiety” to others with his social media posts. (If this is how it works, how is TikTok still a thing?)
Minuscule magnetic nanobots, shown to have the ability to travel deep inside the brain to repair deadly aneurysms, were created at the University of Edinburgh.
The Global Engagement Center, under the US State Department, the office that is accused of working with groups aiming to censor and demonetize right leaning media outlets in the U.S. shut down it’s office in 2023 upon lawmakers agreement to not fund it. However, in a non-public letter to members of Congress the State Department outlined its plan to allocate the GEC resources and staff to a new office.
FEMA has declared 9% of Asheville, NC as a “flood zone.”
Mask mandates have been reinstated in three states.
Another study connecting blindness with Ozempic was released.
A single church, Grace Covenant Presbyterian, has given out over 2 million in rental and mortgage assistance to those hit by hurricane Helene in North Carolina.
President Biden announces $2.5 Billion in aid to Ukraine for security.
Love this experiment.
Interesting. Many items in there that I wasn’t aware of. It would be great if links to articles etc could be included. Troubling that there are 3 states with mask mandates- which ones?
