We’ve been to Nepal several times. It’s hard to describe because it’s just so vastly different than anything in this hemisphere, let alone country. There is no scale here to describe to the Himalayas. There is no developed city anywhere on scale of age. I’d planned on posting photos from our entire first trip but as I went through them I couldn’t seem to get past our first stop of our first trip, Kathmandu. It’s such an amazing city, one of my favorites I’ve ever been in. It’s absolutely ancient in its feel. Our first trip was just a couple years after the devastating earthquake in 2015 and the city was very much still in rebuild mode, and in some places, still just clearing thing up. But the Nepali people, for what they lack in monetary wealth (it is somewhere on par with Haiti monetarily) it makes up for in cultural vibrancy, tenacity, and grit. And beauty. Kathmandu is an amazing place to visit. I have so many more shots just from this city, let along the country as a whole, so this will have to serve as a first of many photo roundups of Nepal. (I lowered the resolution in these photos hoping to fit more into the post… Hopefully they still come through well enough.)

I can smell and taste this journey you took. Great images to illustrate the story 👏
