Most of the time walking around I shoot completely manual. But at the ski hill I’m either using a little point and shoot film camera (see black and white cabin shot) or this Sony on full auto. The fact that this shot is so sharp makes me so glad to have good af in those moments.
I love this little nugget “the whole point of this weekly installment is photos, and the stories they tell, regardless of time.” I think that too often one gets caught up in thinking that photos have to be recent images taken along the same timeline or taken specifically for a particular post. I love the idea of time traveling with photos. I bet your archive is full of gorgeous and interesting images, I’m looking forward to seeing more.
P.S. The photo of Acre is really intriguing, I simply love the brown tones of his coat contrasting with the snow. I also must say I’m a bit envious of the beautiful and rugged landscape that often seems to surround you.
I feel really lucky to live somewhere like this… incredible little scenes out my door in all directions. I really appreciate hearing your take on the photos and am super excited about this particular vein in my substack. This is going to be a lot of fun.
Not to be dramatic but I don’t know that I’ve ever loved photos as much as these. Maybe it’s because I live in a place without snow but wow these make the landscape look truly idyllic
These photos are breathtaking! My favorite has too be of your dog, Acre.
holy shit man that Raven is bad ass!!! what a shot

Right? I was so stoked how this turned out. Mid chair swing over my shoulder with a little Sony Rx… such an incredible little lens.
Love the very first dog photograph SO much! 🔥
I agree 👍

Just wow! Love these.
The first photo of Acre is beautiful.
The final sunset photo is surreal.
Always a pleasure to see your art!
I love these!! So moody.
Would definitely be interested in hearing some about your gear. Your photos are always amazing.
I love all the photos, but especially the one of the cabin!
NW Montana is the greatest.
