My kids are 3 years apart we are in the baby stage still with a 4yr old and 1yr old. You're right it feels like we we be in this stage forever but when I look back at all my photos of my 4yr old at 1 and 2 I hardly recognize her. She was almost a completely different person then, who knows when she will be tomorrow. I can't even fathom 20 or 16 at this point. Thinking about still freaks me out.

The nice part is the evolution, you don’t have to worry about 16 yet. It’s all steps. But I still can’t explain the time shift that occurs. You just suddenly find yourself there. But your kids have evolved all along the way. It’s wild. But I love it.

This hits home today as my oldest just turned 16 and this morning just passed her drivers license testing, so big changes happening here in the "where did the time go" department!

One thing about a diagnosis for me is that I’ve definitely started to try to hang on to every season and almost mourn the conclusion of each one. I’m trying to do my best to embrace it and not worry about whether it is the last one I will see but it does help bring the focus to the present and help me notice little things that I didn’t have the time or take the time to do before. I have hope that I’ll see more times around the sun and part of this process that I’m so grateful for in the reminder to notice the small things and to not want to waste precious time on the biggest time wasters of fear and hatred and bitterness. Thank you for sharing your gift of writing and seeing the beauty around you with us!

In Ukraine, winter began only at the beginning of February, snow fell, frosts. And in a week they are already predicting +15… February is a special month for me. There are 6 birthdays in our family on it. Two of them are my daughters’ birthdays. One of them turns 16 next week, the other – 30…The whole month I returned to thinking about the passage of time, about plans, about my childhood and my children’s… You enlightened me about this story from a different angle. And for that I am very grateful to you…
