I sincerely enjoyed reading this, Lawson. You summed up a lot of my thoughts and frustrations with our world a lot better than I can right now. Thank you for sharing your perspective.
Thanks. It feels good to know there are more people thinking about this stuff. Sometimes it seems like we are doomed but again, along the lines of this post, when we actually take the time to connect with people, that’s when I have more hope.
I agree - I totally know the feeling. I can admittedly get pretty wrapped up in my hopelessness about it sometimes. Like you said, connecting with others and having genuine interactions with people helps bring the humanity back. I hope we can achieve this on a collective scale someday.
The world would be a better place if we began to recognize the humanity in every person. From the crooked politician to the Kia Boys, every single one of us is living a human experience. Being quick to judgment rarely creates a better world. I appreciate your sentiment in this piece.
I think about this a lot. It fascinates me how wildly different our thought porcesses become considering we all start in our mothers womb. Whenever I see a heated argument online I have to wonder had the two participants gotten to know each other before the argument took place would it change their behaviour or would they still point angry fingers at one another? It's all too easy nowadays to judge someone based on our first impression of them.
